Dark Horse took on Dirtbag’s Paid Social activity, using it to extend the reach of the organic content the team was already producing rather than replacing what was working.
The creative mattered. No one chooses a wedding band from a paragraph describing how energetic they are. People want to see a performance, hear the music and imagine what that band would be like in a room full of their mates at midnight.
Paid Social gave Dirtbag a way to put those performances in front of far more potential customers.
Dark Horse managed the campaigns, tested the creative and audiences, and used the response to understand which bands and messages were landing hardest.
For Joey, there was also a less glamorous benefit: he no longer had to spend his own time wrestling with Meta Ads Manager, something he admits he hates doing.
More useful was the speed at which Dirtbag could now test demand. If the team believed strongly in a band or a particular piece of content, Paid Social could get it seen quickly enough to find out whether the audience agreed.
That feedback has helped remove some of the uncertainty that naturally comes with building a young brand.
The audience was finally seeing what Dirtbag had to offer, and they were booking.
